DALLAS FIRST TEE LEARNING CENTER

Location: Dallas, Texas

Firm: Brown Reynolds Watford Architects

Project Role: Intern, Conceptual Design through Construction Drawings, Graphics and Marketing

The non-profit organization, First Tee Learning Center, planned a new complex with complicated site conditions (Trinity Watershed Management Area) like brownfield reclamation, floodplain restrictions, and multiple project owners. The Center capitalizes on the existing golf course, creates a dynamic in which administrative services and educational areas relate to and frame outdoor learning areas. The STEM suite is designed with the flexibility to provide both focused and intimate learning experiences as well as an open gathering space for events which may spill to the outdoor classrooms.  The complex is designed to provide highly specialized and varied learning environments in an extremely small footprint. The location and inherent value of outdoor learning created the opportunity to provide an architectural character that is both honest in material and form, which is at once relatable to the rich and welcoming material palette of Texas stone and wood.
